Visiting The Waterpark

Day Passes may be purchased online, in advance - or may be purchased at the waterpark upon arrival.

Avalanche Bay does not currently have any capacity constraints.

You do not need to stay at our resort to utilize the waterpark. Day passes are available for purchase online, in advance.

No, day passes are not included with your lodging reservation. If you are lodging through Boyne Mountain, The Inn at Bay Harbor or The Highlands, you can use your lodging confirmation code to get 10% off with our Stay & Save discount.

Third-party lodging reservations, such as those booked through Expedia and VRBO, are not eligible for the Stay & Save discount.

Yes! All guests are required to have a day pass to enter the facility.

Don't Want to get wet? No problem. Purchase a Spectator Pass for only $10 and you will have access to all dry areas of the waterpark facility. Perfect for adults chaperoning kids ages 3 and older. Please note, spectator passes are not valid for those accompanying children age 2 and younger.

All children, ages 10 years and younger, MUST be accompanied by a ticketed adult, ages 18 and up.

Children 2 and younger are FREE!

Services & Amenities

Complimentary towels and life vests are available.

Only Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices will be allowed inside the waterpark. No inflatable rings, mats or toys of any kind are allowed.

Avalanche Bay has lifeguards staffed throughout the waterpark. Our lifeguards are certified through Jeff Ellis and Associates. Ellis currently certifies 99% of the world's waterparks.

Avalanche Bay Waterpark air temperature is a comfortable 84-87° Fahrenheit at all times.

Our waters are maintained at a comfortable 82-85° Fahrenheit.

Swim diapers are required for all non-toilet trained participants and are available for purchase within the park.

Water shoes are allowed and encouraged. Water shoes must be removed to ride The Big Couloir, but are allowed on all other rides and attractions.

Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted inside the waterpark.

Waterpark Policies

Outside food and drink is not permitted. State law prohibits the use of glass, coolers, or any carry-in food and beverage in the waterpark or outdoor patio area.

Our Après Ski Pub and Snack Shack are great alternatives with something for every appetite.

All children, ages 10 years and younger, MUST be accompanied by a ticketed adult, ages 18 and up.

  • Children must be under 36" tall to be in the Kitz Pool. The deepest part of Activity Pool is 4' 6" deep.
  • There are no restrictions for Splasherhorn.
  • Riders must be at least 48" tall to ride The Big Couloir, the Super-G and Vertigo slides.
  • Riders must be less than 300 lbs to ride The Big Couloir.
  • Riders must be as tall as the boogie board to ride the Rip Zone Surf Simulator. Riders must be at least 7 years old to surf the Rip Zone Surf Simulator. All guests MUST sign a waiver to participate in stand-up surfing.

Waterpark Discounts

We do offer discounts. Check out some details below.

Our group discounts begin at 15 or more people.

Group Passes are subject to blackout dates, including but not limited to Holidays and Spring Break.

All group passes must be purchased online.

We offer 20% off our window rates for active or retired personnel. ID required at time of purchase. Must purchase at waterpark kiosk upon arrival.
